Book Summary:
San Jose Silicon Valley - Innovative Vision, Entrepreneurial Spirit is a 300-page, large format, tabletop picture book that was written for the San Jose Chamber of Commerce. The first half of the book takes you on a journey though the valley’s past and then brings you forward to reveal the growth of the community, businesses, technology, education, medicine, sports, arts, and attractions. Interesting facts are mixed with colorful pictures of the Winchester Mystery House, Tech Museum, Shark’s Arena, San Pedro Square and a multitude of other locales. Chapters include: The Valley Transformed; Region of Diversity; Arts, Events and Recreation; a Sound Business Economy; Where Technology is Taking Us Next; Giving Back, the Valley Way; Frontiers of Medicine; Educational Opportunities Abound; and Innovative Growth Management.
The second half of the book has exposés of individual companies, universities and organizations that comprise Silicon Valley. Suzan was the lead profile writer on this section of the book, which conveys the essence of businesses like Knight Ridder Organization, San Jose Mercury News, Adobe Systems, Advantest America, San Jose Arena, Intel Corporation, San Jose State University, Business Ink, Cadence Design Systems, Inc., and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority.
